Welcome to Walden!
Just over Muddy Pass on the way to Steamboat Springs, Walden rests on a high glacial plain at the headwaters of the North
Platte River. Historically a favorite Ute hunting ground, the area, just 20 miles from the Wyoming border, has also begun
to draw outdoor enthusiasts who are interested in pursuing their interests - hiking, camping, fishing, cross-country skiing
- in more remote, less crowded Mt. Zirkel Wilderness and Routt National Forest. The Walden Ranger District Office can offer
more information and area maps.
